Dr. Mohammad Ali Fteiha

Biography

Dr. Mohammad Fteiha is an Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Associate Professor of Special Education at the College of Arts and Sciences in Abu Dhabi University, Special and Inclusive Education Consultant, specialized in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Assistive Technology and Communication Disorders. Worked as Speech therapist, autism specialist and training coordinator, Dr. Fteiha joined Al Ain campus of Abu Dhabi University in 2012. Dr. Fteiha served as and Chair of Education Department for the last 6 years from Sep 2016 till Aug 2021 and served as AA Interim Campus Director from April, 2016 till July, 2019.

 

Dr. Fteiha’s educational background includes MA degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Communication Disorders from Jordan University, Jordan. Dr. Fteiha earned his Ph.D. (Honors) degree in Special Education from Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies, Jordan. Recently Dr. Fteiha earned Harvard Bok Higher Education Teaching Certificate. Dr. Fteiha is qualified in using SMART learning and Distance learning approaches.

 

The research interests of Dr. Fteiha is focused on the areas of assistive technology, special and inclusive education, methods of teaching, working with families of children with disabilities, inclusive practices and early intervention, communication disorders, autism and special needs, other research interests of Dr. Fteiha include using technology in education and teaching competencies. Moreover, Dr. Fteiha’s research work presented in a variety of local, national, and international conferences for special needs centers and organizations for the past 20 years. 

 

For his contributions to the society and institutions of higher education, Dr. Fteiha’s has received a number of awards throughout his professional life. The list of his awards includes Teaching Awards from ADU; Khalifa Award for Education; Princess Haya Award for Special Education; and Harvard Medical School Dubai Center the TAMAYOZ Award for Health Care Professional.
